Rewrite this in simple english please?

what does this mean in simple english, what is it saying

"Determinism (specifically causal determinism) is the concept that events within a given paradigm are bound by causality in such a way that any state (of an object or event) is completely, or at least to some large degree, determined by prior states. In physics, this principle is known as cause-and-effect."|||Determinism (and causal determinism especially) is the idea that things happening (within a certain context) have a causal relationship, in such a way that thing 1 (object or event) is totally, or at least close to totally) determined (caused) by thing(s) 2 that happened before. (that broken leg (1) was caused by falling from the ladder (2)). In physics this principle is called cause(2)-and-effect(1).
